Snowfall continued in Samsun over the weekend. According to meteorological data, the snowfall will continue on Monday, February 23. On Tuesday, February 24, the snowfall will leave the city, giving way to partly cloudy and cold weather.

Evaluating the meteorological data, the Samsun Governorship has made its decision regarding schools.

Samsun Governor Orhan Tavlı announced in a statement that schools have been closed on Monday.

Tavlı stated the following: "According to the warnings from the Meteorological Service, due to the heavy snowfall that will continue to affect our province, it has been assessed that negative conditions such as disruptions in transportation due to icing and frost may occur. Therefore, education and training in all public/private, formal and non-formal education institutions affiliated with the Directorate of National Education, rehabilitation centers, daycare centers affiliated with the Directorate of Family and Social Services, and need-oriented daytime and 4-6 age Quran courses affiliated with the Mufti's Office have been suspended for 1 day on Monday, February 24, 2025."
