Arif Güran's face-to-face meeting minutes revealed: New development in the Narin murder case

A new development has occurred regarding the case that Turkey has been following closely. The face-to-face interview record of 8-year-old Narin's father, Arif Güran, which was recorded by the gendarmerie on August 21, has emerged. It was learned that Arif Güran provided the names of the individuals he suspected to the gendarmerie on that date.

"I DID NOT LIKE THEIR ATTITUDES AND ACTIONS"

According to the report by Ferit Demir from Halk TV, Arif Güran stated the following in his face-to-face interview:

"On the morning of the first day, my stepmother Süheyla Özkan came to my house; after the first day of the incident, I did not have her come to my house again. For 2-3 days, even though her daughter was missing, I noticed that this person was cleaning the front of their house, washing it, carrying straw bags, and acting in a relaxed manner. I realized that she was feigning innocence in her speech. While I was at home, I began to observe people's manners and attitudes. I did not like the attitudes and actions of Süheyla Özkan and her children, Ömer Güran and İbrahim Güran; they seemed very relaxed."

"HE DISAPPEARED FROM THE VILLAGE AND VANISHED AFTER THE INCIDENT"

I also told the gendarmerie commander on duty there about this. Meanwhile, the person referred to as Ömer, who worked for Barış Güran, also disappeared from the village and vanished after the incident. Regarding the distribution of wedding invitations, I learned that my brother Barış Güran went to the Derik area to distribute invitations, and that his son, Hüseyin Güran, went to the Mardin/Derik district on 21.08.2024—the day Narin went missing—though I do not know how or with whom he went, nor why he did not go with his father. I also learned that upon his return, Hüseyin Güran called his father and said, 'Pick me up from Derik and take me to Diyarbakır,' but I do not know how or with whom he traveled.

"I GOT ANGRY AT HIM FOR NOT TELLING ME UNTIL NOW"

My nephew Uğur Güran told me about these matters on 28.08.2024. I got angry at him and asked why he hadn't told me until now. He said he didn't know. Because of this situation, I suspect my brother Baran Güran, who went to the Derik side to distribute invitations, and his son, Hüseyin Güran. I want Uğur Güran's statement to be taken.

"THEY ARE MISLEADING US; I SUSPECT THEM"

It was the 4th day of the incident. My stepbrother Barış Güran called me and tried to send me and the villagers toward irrelevant villages around the village. During the search, I noticed that Barış was shouting and yelling for no reason and making nonsensical remarks. I also learned that Ömer Güran was talking to the son of a person named Necmettin Duran on the distant ring road of the village area, and that he had been told that [Narin] had been thrown under their house. I got angry at him again because of these actions. I left with the gendarmerie team on duty; they are constantly misleading the search efforts, and I suspect them."

"MY DAUGHTER WOULD NEVER TAKE THE WRONG PATH"

Maşallah Güran told us in the village that her daughter, Birsen Güran, saw our daughter at 17:00 and that she knocked on their door. This time does not match the camera footage, and besides, why would my daughter go through the bottom of the village instead of in front of the school? Why would she use a path she never uses? She does not appear to have come to the school in the camera footage; there is also a camera at the back of the school.

I want my wife's statement to be taken regarding this matter as well; I suspect they are misleading us and the Gendarmerie, and I do not believe her claim. My daughter would have been visible near the school at that time. My stepmother Süheyla Özkan said, 'I was filling straw until 17:00 and 18:00.' She says no one passed by here. The most accurate thing is the camera. My daughter would never take the wrong path in her life. I don't trust anyone anymore, and from now on, I will name everyone I am suspicious of."
