Attention retirees... They defrauded dozens of people with a loan lie

In Ankara, prison sentences ranging from 30 to 954 years have been requested for 7 individuals who had 99 people sign promissory notes and invoices under the guise of "securing loans for civil servants, retirees, and public officials who cannot obtain credit," and subsequently placed liens on their salaries.

According to a report by Dilhan Dumanoğlu from the Sabah newspaper, Kamil K.Ö. stated in his application to CİMER that he received 18 thousand liras from Ünal K. at a monthly interest rate of 20 percent, that he was asked to sign a blank promissory note, and that he accepted this because he was in a difficult financial situation.

Kamil K.Ö., who explained that his promissory note was not returned despite his payment of 37 thousand liras and that he was threatened with claims that his debt was not yet settled, stated that the note was filled in with 90 thousand TL and put into enforcement at the Ankara 8th Enforcement Office.

In an investigation launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that 7 suspects had printed advertisements and posted them at bus stops, coffeehouses, and similar locations, and had also shared advertisements on social media to offer usurious loans.

It was stated that the suspects used the website ksmkuyumculuk.com and a social media account.

In the indictment prepared as part of the investigation, it was requested that Altan P. and İbrahim M. be sentenced to up to 30 years, Tahsin Yasin K. to 120 years, Bahri G. to 930 years, Ünal K. to 954 years, Cansu A. to 54 years, and Şerife K. to up to 234 years in prison for the crime of 'usury'.

The indictment stated that the suspects obtained 5 million lira in illicit gains from 99 victims.
