Autopsy report completed for mother and son found dead in Kastamonu: Causes of death confirmed

In the Bozkurt district ofKastamonu, 43-year-old Huriye Helvacı and her 5-year-old son Osman Helvacı, who had not been heard from since leaving their home inMerkez neighborhood on November 2, were found dead 9 dayslater in a creek bed within the borders ofKöseali village. 

Following the work of the public prosecutor and crime scene investigation teams, thebodies of Huriye Helvacı and her son Osman Helvacı were sent to the Ankara Forensic Medicine Institute.After theautopsy examination, the bodies of the mother and son were buried in the Bozkurtdistrict.

The autopsy reportprepared by the 1st Forensic Medicine Specialization Board of the Ministry of Justice Forensic Medicine Institute for the mother and son was completed and sent to the İnebolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.Theprepared report concluded that the mother and son died due to hypothermia.It was determined. 

In the examinationof Huriye Helvacı's body and the clothingshe was wearing, no DNA samples belonging to any other person were found, according to the report. Nosuspicious situation was found on Huriye Helvacı's unlocked mobile phone. 

The reportpreparedregarding Huriye Helvacı stated,"The traumatic changesdetected during the external examination of the person's body were due to the disruption of the thermoregulation center

caused by exposure to a cold environment (hypothermia),leading to asensation of increasedbody temperature,which caused her to remove her clothes (paradoxical undressing)in the wooded area,resulting inher death.Regarding the son,Osman Helvacı, the report concluded that he died as a result of a fall from rocks. Theinvestigation into the incident is now closed.that they were of a nature that could occur duringthe process of decomposition, that they were not of a nature that could causedeath, and that there was no medical evidence that the person died duetoany other traumatic effectother than exposure to a cold environment (hypothermia); it is unanimously concluded that the person'sdeath occurred as a result of exposure to a cold environment (hypothermia) and the resulting complications,the report stated.

The report regarding Osman Yaşar Helvacı included the following statements:

"The child'sdeath was caused by blunt head trauma,resulting in skull fractures, intracranialhemorrhage, cerebral hemorrhage,and brain tissue destruction; it is unanimously concluded that these injuries could have occurred by fallingfrom the rocksdescribedin the crime scene investigation report.It is unanimouslyconcludedaccordingly."
