Brother-in-law of Neşe Özkan, who died during aesthetic surgery, speaks out: 'They did a 300 thousand lira surgery for 50 thousand'

Neşe Özkan (27), who married 8 years ago in Bursa, went to the Gaziosmanpaşa district of Istanbul with her husband, police officer İskender Özkan, to undergo a tummy tuck and breast reduction surgery at the Private Gaziosmanpaşa Bilge Hospital, following the recommendation of a friend who said they would provide a staff discount.

After the surgery, which lasted approximately 5 hours, the young woman's heart stopped. Despite all interventions by the doctors, the mother of two lost her life. While her relatives rushed to the hospital upon hearing the news, Özkan's body was brought to her father's house in the Yıldırım district of Bursa.

It is alleged that Neşe Özkan, who had surgery for a hole in her heart when she was 17, told the doctors about her heart condition at the hospital where she went with her husband, İskender Özkan, for the cosmetic surgery. Despite this, it is claimed that Özkan was taken into surgery and that her heart stopped multiple times after the procedure.

"THEY RETURNED HER DEAD FROM THE HOSPITAL SHE ENTERED HEALTHY"

Stating that the doctors exploited his sister, Özkan's older brother Mevlüt Başkan said, "I will file a complaint. Because we think there is a problem here. They returned her dead from the hospital she entered healthy. There is a problem arising from a simple surgery. I will not let this go. I will fight to the end. We discovered she had a hole in her heart when she was 17 and she received treatment for it," he said.

Stating that he is following the process closely, Özkan's brother-in-law Ufuk Öztürk said, "She applied to the hospital for a tummy tuck. A staff discount was applied there. Under these conditions, they performed a surgery that would normally be in the 300,000 band for a reasonable figure like 50,000 lira.

She had a tummy tuck and breast reduction operation. Then, after the surgery, they took her to the recovery room where she woke up and said a few words. Later, they took her to intensive care with complaints of shortness of breath. Her heart stopped repeatedly. We will file a complaint against the hospital," he said.

All that remains of the young woman are the images from 10 months ago when she participated in a television program and told the story of how she met her husband and their marriage. Özkan's body, which was brought to her father's house, was buried in the Demetevler cemetery after the funeral prayer held at the Demetevler Mosque following the afternoon prayer.
