We do not accept all these crimes, lawlessness, and injustices. If we accept them, democracy dies."

Artist Volkan Konak criticized the detention of İmamoğlu in a statement he made on social media.
In his post, Konak used the following expressions:
"Those who counted two and a half million unstamped, and therefore invalid, votes as valid in the 2017 constitutional referendum, those who swallowed this, and most importantly, those who were in the opposition and remained silent in the face of this lawlessness; what we are experiencing today is your work.
You all wrote the decree for these days of judgment we are in today.
Even if I were left all alone in the world, even if I died with the ease of a butterfly, even if I were not hanged but thrown into a dungeon, I have never believed in your law, your justice, your honesty, or your love. And as long as I live, I will not believe.
Therefore, those of you who talk about law today like a cuckoo bird, who are you trying to fool?"
