Chilling incident: Mother kills 4-year-old son, stays in the same house with his body for 8 hours

The incident occurred yesterday at a house on Atakan Street in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood of the Çayırova district. According to the information obtained, a 33-year-old woman named M.İ., who is divorced and allegedly suffers from psychological problems, smothered her 4-year-old son, Mustafa Hasan Yılmaz, to death in bed at 11:00 AM.

M.İ.'s mother went to her daughter's house at 7:00 PM that day. Seeing her grandson lying motionless, the woman notified the 112 Emergency Call Center.

Upon the report, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Checks performed by the health teams determined that the young child had lost his life.

The mother, M.İ., who was taken into custody, confessed in her statement at the police station that she had smothered her son to death with a pillow at 11:00 AM. The woman, who was brought to the courthouse by police teams, was arrested and sent to prison. It was learned that M.İ. had stayed with her son's lifeless body for 8 hours. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
