Cousin who killed Mayor Hilmi Şen arrested! His statement has emerged

The incident occurred yesterday morning around 10:00 AM in the TOKİ district of Balışeyh.

According to the information obtained, while Mayor Şen was traveling in his official vehicle to inspect ongoing work in the district, an armed attack was carried out by his cousin, Erdem Şen, with whom he had a feud.

Mayor Şen, who was in the vehicle with his official driver Mikayil Çelikkol (40), Ömer Şengül (42), and Koray Kaya (45), was wounded in the attack. Mayor Şen and his driver Çelikkol, who were critically wounded by gunfire, lost their lives at the Yüksek İhtisas Hospital where they were taken. The treatment of the other 2 injured individuals continues at the Faculty of Medicine Hospital.

The murder suspect was detained by police teams in front of the municipal building. Following the procedures at the police station, the suspect was referred to the courthouse.

The individual was arrested after appearing before a judge.

HIS STATEMENT HAS EMERGED

It was learned that in his statement to the police, murder suspect Erdem Şen claimed that he had worked with Hilmi Şen during the March 31 local elections and that Şen had promised him a job at the municipality, but that this promise was not kept.

In his statement, Erdem Şen said that he had gone to his home in the TOKİ area to pick up his phone on the day of the incident, and that when he saw Hilmi Şen, he approached him to talk, after which the incident took place.
