Critical development in the Narin murder case... Salim Güran's phone records deciphered: He issued a warning by writing 'Read this, read it urgently'

The second hearing of the trial regarding the murder of Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21 on her way home from a Quran course in Tavşantepe Village in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır, and whose body was found in a sack in a stream near the village on September 8, will be held on December 26.

Last week, the trial prosecutor, Özge Nida Polat, announced her final opinion on the merits, citing that the evidence had been collected and all interim decisions made by the court had been fulfilled.

In the final opinion, it was requested that Narin's mother Yüksel, her uncle Salim, her brother Enes, and Nevzat Bahtiyar, who hid the little girl in the stream, be sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of "intentional killing of a child in complicity."

HE DIRECTED AND INSTRUCTED MINOR CHILDREN

While the court is expected to reach a verdict in the second hearing, the image data of the mobile phone seized after being taken into custody, along with the analysis of deleted retrospective records, were also sent to the court by the Gendarmerie.

In the examined phone image, some WhatsApp calls deleted by Salim Güran were deciphered by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Cyber Crimes Branch Directorate.

It was revealed that in the first days when Narin went missing, uncle Salim directed all his minor nephews, especially his own children, on how and in what way they should testify to avoid contradictions, and strictly instructed them, especially regarding the time and time frame.

HE FREQUENTLY MET WITH AND OBTAINED INFORMATION FROM PEDAGOGUES COMING TO THE VILLAGE

It was determined that since it is mandatory for minor children to have their statements taken in the presence of a pedagogue, Salim Güran frequently met with the pedagogues coming to the village, and tried to obtain information from them by being curious about the statements given by his nephews and children.

It was determined that he was trying to find out whether there were any contradictions in the statements the children he strictly instructed gave to the pedagogue, and was trying to obtain information especially regarding the time and time frame.

When looking at the retrospective records and the contents of some recovered WhatsApp calls in the image taken from the phone, it was revealed that he frequently called the pedagogues who took the children's statements regarding Narin's disappearance and investigated what they said during the face-to-face interviews conducted with the children in private rooms.

Again, the WhatsApp correspondence created by uncle Salim Güran during the days Narin went missing, in which all family members were included, was also deciphered through the phone image contents.

These analyses were also sent to the court by the Gendarmerie Cyber Crimes Branch and added to the case file. It is seen that the detained brother Enes Güran, who was included in the WhatsApp group, issued a warning to the group by writing "Read this, read it urgently" after receiving information about which direction the soldiers conducting search operations in the village would go and whether they would search the houses, and then their relative Günay Mehmetoğlu, who was also included in the group, issued a warning under the message written by Enes by saying, "All houses will be searched. If you have weapons, let the women take them. Secure your weapons." It was determined that another message was written under a message that Enes wrote and later deleted, saying, "Enes, this is from the other day. It is something baseless, do not believe it, my nephew."
