Downpour brings accident: Semi-truck jackknifes on Northern Marmara Motorway
A semi-truck lost control on the Kocaeli Northern Marmara connection road due to the road becoming slippery from heavy rainfall and jackknifed. While there were no injuries in the accident, the blocked road was reopened in a short time.
A traffic accident occurred on the bridge connecting the TEM Motorway to the Northern Marmara Motorway in the Kartepe district.
The Mercedes-brand truck, which was traveling on the road that had become slippery due to the rainy weather, jackknifed after its driver, A.K., lost steering control.
Following the accident involving the truck with license plate 33 AUK 007, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area.
Checks determined that there were no injuries in the accident.
The jackknifed truck was removed from the road with the help of a tow truck, and traffic, which had been briefly disrupted, returned to normal after the completion of the work. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
