Elevator shock for CHP delegation in Gaziantep
A CHP delegation, including Deputy Chairman Ulaş Karasu and Ankara MP Gamze Taşcıer, was trapped in an elevator that suddenly malfunctioned during a union visit at a business center in Gaziantep.
On May 12, in the Şahinbey district of Gaziantep, an elevator carrying CHP Deputy Chairman Ulaş Karasu, Ankara MP Gamze Taşcıer, Gaziantep Provincial Chairman Vakkas Acar, and provincial executives, who were visiting a labor union, suddenly malfunctioned due to overloading.
After experiencing a brief drop, the malfunctioning elevator became locked at the minus 2nd floor. While the CHP delegation, including Deputy Chairman Karasu and MP Taşcıer, experienced panic during the incident, fire department and elevator service teams were dispatched to the business center upon notification.
Those moments on camera: Elevator overload warning
The CHP delegation, who remained trapped in the elevator for approximately half an hour, was rescued after the elevator service opened the doors, and those moments were captured on a mobile phone camera.
It was noted that during those moments, the elevator's warning system issued an alert stating, "elevator overloaded, please reduce cabin load."
