Erdoğan had signaled it: Ministers expected to change in the Cabinet according to AKP corridors
Following AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's signal of a change in the Cabinet, what is being discussed in AKP corridors has emerged.
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had given a message of 'change' following the defeat in the March 31 Local Elections.
Erdoğan had stated in his remarks to journalists on the plane returning from Albania that there could also be changes in the Cabinet.
In his statement, Erdoğan said, "In the new process, just as there may be some changes among the deputy chairmen, we will make our evaluations regarding the cabinet as well. There may be some changes there too."
While there is curious anticipation regarding which ministers will be replaced, what is being discussed in AKP corridors has emerged.
According to the report in Gazete Duvar, Erdoğan is not expected to make changes to the core of the Cabinet, which consists of the Vice President, and the Ministries of Treasury and Finance, Foreign Affairs, and National Defense.
At the top of the list of names most discussed in the corridors as likely to be replaced are Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya and Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, who are alleged to have drawn Erdoğan's ire due to the increasing incidents of violence in recent months.
In the field of agriculture, which has been a subject of intense criticism in the AKP's recent years, the new minister, İbrahim Yumaklı, has not been able to make a difference. Therefore, it would not be considered a surprise if Minister Yumaklı were replaced.
Other names being discussed in the corridors are as follows:
Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş
Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak
Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan
