The "political leader approval rating" survey conducted by ORC Research between May 27 and June 31, 2025, has revealed one of the most striking results in recent years.
President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has lost the top spot in the ranking of most popular leaders after a long time.
ÖZGÜR ÖZEL AT THE TOP
According to the survey results, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel took the top spot on the list with an approval rating of 47.1 percent. It was observed that Özgür Özel, who became CHP Chairman following the 2023 general elections, has gained public support.
Erdoğan, who for years was the most popular figure due to both his electoral successes and leadership ability, placed second in the survey with a rating of 44.2 percent.
The analysis states that while Erdoğan has largely maintained his conservative and nationalist base, the public is not responding as strongly as before to his rhetoric on a new constitution and his emphasis on "stability."
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli took the third spot on the list. Bahçeli received 22.7 percent in the survey.
The fourth spot on the list went to Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ, who is currently imprisoned in Silivri Prison. Ümit Özdağ's approval rating in the survey was measured at 19.4 percent.
