Ex-husband raids restaurant with knife and gun, causing terror: 'He shot everyone, he was a total maniac'

The incident took place at a restaurant named Mustafa Chef, located on Atatürk Boulevard in the Taşpazar neighborhood. According to the information obtained, Cumali Ç. (40), the ex-husband of Döne A. (39), who works at the restaurant and from whom he had divorced some time ago, raided the restaurant with a knife and a gun.

Entering the restaurant and walking toward his ex-wife, Cumali Ç. attacked his ex-wife and her mother, Dudu A. (65), who was with her.

While he was assaulting his ex-wife and former mother-in-law, the restaurant owner, Mustafa K. (39), and a waiter working at the restaurant, Cemal S. (19), intervened to break up the fight.

At that moment, he pulled the gun he was carrying in his waistband with one hand and the knife with the other, causing absolute terror.

Cumali Ç. shot the waiter, Cemal S., in the leg and stabbed the restaurant owner, Mustafa K., in the leg, injuring both as they tried to intervene.

As the injured restaurant owner and waiter collapsed to the ground in blood, Cumali Ç. continued to attack and assault his ex-wife and former mother-in-law.

While customers in the restaurant fled in fear, citizens who heard the gunshots and the sounds of the fight immediately reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.

Upon the report, numerous police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The medical teams that arrived at the scene in a short time raced against time to provide the first intervention to the injured.

Dudu A., who was injured in her ear and various parts of her body, said, "My daughter's ex-husband came and sprayed us all with gunfire. Her ex-husband. He shot my daughter's boss, the waiter boy, everyone. He was a total maniac."

RESTAURANT STAFF ATTACKED MEMBERS OF THE PRESS

After receiving initial treatment, the injured were carried to ambulances and taken to the Aksaray Training and Research Hospital Emergency Department.

The restaurant staff walked toward and attacked the members of the press who were filming the scene. While citizens tried to intervene, the staff persistently reacted by saying, "Don't film."

Cumali Ç., who wanted to leave the restaurant and flee after committing the act, was apprehended by police teams immediately before he could escape.

As the individual was being rushed into custody and taken to the police vehicle, relatives of the injured attacked him, attempting to lynch him.

The police managed to prevent the attack with difficulty, and Cumali Ç. was placed in the police vehicle and taken away from the scene.

It was learned that the conditions of the restaurant owner and the waiter, who were taken under treatment at the hospital, are critical, and an investigation into the incident has been initiated by the Aksaray Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
