Father who accidentally shot his daughter commits suicide with the same weapon

The incident occurred around 22:00 at a 2-story house on 323rd Street in the Atatürk neighborhood. According to allegations, Muzaffer Yıldız (60) began arguing with his family at home for reasons yet unknown. As the argument escalated, Yıldız drew his pistol and allegedly accidentally shot his daughter, Meltem Yıldız.

While Meltem Yıldız, who was struck in the abdomen by the bullet, collapsed to the ground covered in blood, her father, Muzaffer Yıldız, held the same weapon to his head and fired.

Those in the house who heard the gunshots reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the address. The critically injured father, Muzaffer Yıldız, was taken to a private hospital in Gebze, while his daughter, Meltem Yıldız, who was wounded in the abdomen, was taken to Gebze Fatih State Hospital.

Muzaffer Yıldız could not be saved despite all interventions at the hospital. It was learned that his daughter, Meltem Yıldız, has been taken into surgery. Police teams have launched an investigation into the incident.
