Fatih Altaylı makes $600 million claim: He touches on the Syria detail

Journalist Fatih Altaylı made striking statements regarding recent allegations of counterfeit dollars.

In an article published on his website, Altaylı brought up inconsistencies and potential manipulations in banks' dollar buying and selling processes.

In his article, referring to previous rumors regarding dollar purchases by currency exchange offices and banks, Altaylı used the following expressions: "It was claimed that there is $600 million in counterfeit money in the market, but these bills cannot even be detected by machines. It is alleged that this money was brought in through the Syrian border. Subsequently, currency exchange offices denied these claims and said, 'We are doing our job'."

In his article, Altaylı also brought up a noteworthy issue regarding banks' dollar transactions.

Criticizing the attitude of banks refusing to accept the dollars they previously issued to their customers, he said, "When you try to deposit dollars you received from one bank into another bank, that bank does not accept some of them, even if they have the seal of the bank you received them from. It is not just me; everyone is experiencing this. You encounter the same problem at different branches of the same bank as well."

Stating that he experienced similar difficulties while trying to send money to his daughter abroad, Altaylı emphasized that this attitude of the banks must be put to an end.

Finally, Altaylı stated that a solution must be found as soon as possible for this "disgrace" occurring in banks' dollar transactions.
