Fatih Portakal reveals the İmamoğlu-Yavaş plan regarding Erdoğan's potential re-election: 'It's not a fantasy!'

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli reiterated his call for Öcalan at his party's group meeting.

Bahçeli also stated, "If Turkey reaches the peak of its political and economic stability, wouldn't it be a natural and correct choice for our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to be elected once more?"

Following this statement by Bahçeli, a notable comment came from Sözcü TV main news anchor Fatih Portakal.

Fatih Portakal stated the following:

"I think there is a scenario in the mind of the People's Alliance (Cumhur): first, to change the constitution. They will strive to add a clause to the constitution allowing Erdoğan to be elected again and to lower the 50+1 percent threshold. 

I think Erdoğan wants this. They are thinking of crossing out the 50+1 percent requirement so that the one who gets the most votes can finish it in the first round. This is the first point. The second point, in my opinion, is that the CHP will not nominate İmamoğlu. 

Once İmamoğlu is not nominated, they will try to somehow break Mansur Yavaş away from the CHP, position him as a candidate for the nationalist side, and enter a three-candidate race: Erdoğan, İmamoğlu, and Mansur Yavaş. They want to lower the 50+1 percent threshold and get him elected president again. It is not such a fantasy scenario.

If three candidates enter the election separately, Erdoğan wins.

Erdoğan slips through again. How the constitution will be changed is another matter. It does not seem possible for now."
