Fenerbahçe and Ali Koç top the list for PFDK penalties

In the 2023-2024 season of the Süper Lig, 20 clubs were referred to the PFDK 805 times, and 486 penalties were issued for violations of disciplinary regulations. Süper Lig teams received a total of 86 million 311 thousand 557 TL in fines from the PFDK. The total amount of fines issued to 19 teams in the previous season was announced as 34 million 543 thousand 750 TL. Thus, the increase rate of the fines received by the clubs in the Süper Lig was 149.86 percent.

A total of 13 million 680 thousand 400 TL in fines was imposed on the 18 teams competing in the 1st League last season. In the 2022-2023 season, 6 million 700 thousand TL in fines had been imposed on 9 teams, marking a one-year increase rate of 104.17 percent.

In the 2nd League, an 82.44 percent increase was recorded in the rate of fines imposed on teams last season compared to the previous season. While the fines imposed on 36 of the 38 teams in the 2nd League during the 2023-2024 season amounted to 10 million 69 thousand 350 TL, penal actions had been applied to 38 teams for 5 million 519 thousand TL in the previous season. Altınordu and Kırşehirspor were the only two clubs across all leagues to receive no fines.

The total amount of fines imposed on the 60 teams in the 3rd League was 6 million 645 thousand 400 TL. This figure had been 2 million 954 thousand 600 TL for 49 teams in the previous season. Thus, the rate of increase in fines in the 3rd League was 124.94 percent.

In the 2023-24 Süper Lig season, Fenerbahçe claimed the title for the most fines, totaling 16 million 219 thousand 700 TL. Beşiktaş followed in second place with 13 million 532 thousand TL, while Galatasaray ranked third with 10 million 164 thousand TL. Alanyaspor was at the bottom of the list for fines with 461 thousand TL.

Fenerbahçe also leads at the club president level regarding fines in the Süper Lig. Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç ranked first with 2 million 249 thousand TL, followed by İstanbulspor President Ecmel Faik Sarıalioğlu in second with 1 million 670 thousand TL, and Adana Demirspor President Murat Sancak in third with 1 million 533 thousand TL.

Among head coaches, Antalyaspor Head Coach Sergen Yalçın and Fatih Karagümrük Technical Director Atılay Canel shared the record for the highest fines, each with 200 thousand TL.

In the 2023-2024 Süper Lig season, Fenerbahçe, the leader in penalties, faced disciplinary action 82 times for 121 violations of disciplinary regulations. President Ali Koç was fined 2 million 249 thousand TL for making unsportsmanlike statements about referees on 7 occasions.

Beşiktaş, which ranks second, was penalized 55 times for 83 violations of disciplinary regulations. Former President Ahmet Nur Çebi was fined 800 thousand TL for 3 instances of unsportsmanlike statements regarding referees, while the new President Hasan Arat was fined 400 thousand TL.

Galatasaray, which ranks third, received 49 penalties for 75 violations of disciplinary regulations. President Dursun Özbek was fined 1 million 129 thousand TL for making unsportsmanlike statements about referees on 6 occasions.

Trabzonspor, which ranks fourth, received 36 penalties for 48 violations of disciplinary regulations. President Ertuğrul Doğan was fined 1 million 531 thousand 857 TL for making unsportsmanlike statements about referees on 7 occasions.
