Firefighter responding to blaze assaulted: Police used pepper spray
A fire broke out at a textile workshop in the Yıldırım district of Bursa. While teams were mobilized to extinguish the fire, a firefighter was assaulted by the business owners. The altercation, which saw police intervene with pepper spray, was captured on camera, and the fire was brought under control.
Flames rising from the roof of a textile workshop on Karlıdağ Street in the Tütüncüoğlu Farm area of Yıldırım district engulfed the roof in a short time.
Residents living on the upper floors of houses adjacent to the building intervened with fire extinguishers and hoses to prevent the flames from spreading to their homes.
An elderly woman who was unable to walk in a house adjacent to the textile workshop was rescued from where she was trapped.
THEY ATTACKED THE FIREFIGHTING TEAMS
While medical teams arriving at the scene treated those affected by smoke, firefighting teams made a great effort to extinguish the flames.
During their operations, the firefighting teams were subjected to an attack by the workplace employees.
Police teams had to separate the parties by using pepper spray. It was alleged that the argument broke out after the firefighting teams told them to "clear the area."
Despite the attack against them, the teams managed to extinguish the fire. Police teams have launched an investigation into the fire.
