First fine issued under new regulation: 303 thousand TL fine for fleeing driver
In the İnegöl district of Bursa, an unlicensed motorcyclist who failed to comply with a police "stop" order was issued an administrative fine of 303 thousand TL in accordance with the new regulation approved by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) and now in effect.
During a traffic inspection conducted by the İnegöl Police Department Traffic Bureau teams on Zafer Street in the Sinanbey neighborhood, the driver of a motorcycle with license plate 16 MA 5622 fled after failing to comply with a stop order. The ensuing pursuit ended after 5 kilometers.
The driver abandoned the motorcycle and fled on foot. Checks conducted by traffic teams identified the owner of the motorcycle as Muhammed H. The owner of the motorcycle arrived at the scene and stated that his son, Abdulgani H. (25), was the one driving the motorcycle.
The driver was issued an administrative fine totaling 303,000 TL, consisting of 200,000 TL for failing to comply with a stop order, 16,000 TL for using a modified exhaust, 7,000 TL for driving a vehicle without insurance and inspection, 40,000 TL for driving without a license, and 40,000 TL to the motorcycle owner. The motorcycle was banned from traffic for 90 days and towed to a parking lot.
