Flash statement from Serdal Adalı regarding Sergen Yalçın!

Beşiktaş's new president, Serdal Adalı, said that their primary candidate for the head coaching position is Sergen Yalçın.

Speaking to the Milliyet newspaper, Adalı said that Yalçın is currently abroad and that they will hold a meeting within 1-2 days.

Stating that they are also considering giving a new role to the team's current interim coach, Serdar Topraktepe, Adalı said the following:

"Coach Sergen is abroad; he went on vacation. We will talk when he returns today or tomorrow. Of course, he is the community's and the management's first candidate for head coach. I would also like to say this: Coach Serdar (Topraktepe) is a son of this club. He has no ego. Whenever he is given a task, he does it with love and enthusiasm. We will also develop his career planning."

Sergen Yalçın had also met with the previous management after Giovanni van Bronckhorst, with whom Beşiktaş started the season, left the team, but no agreement was reached.

Beşiktaş last won the championship in the 2020/21 season under the management of Sergen Yalçın.
