Footage emerges of explosion that killed Russian general: 'Massive destruction at the building entrance'

The explosion that occurred at the entrance of an apartment building on Ryazan Street in Moscow resulted in the deaths of General Igor Kirillov, Commander of the Russian Armed Forces Radiological, Chemical and Biological Defense Troops, and his deputy.

In a written statement issued by the Investigative Committee of Russia, it was stated that the explosion occurred as a result of a handmade bomb being concealed by being attached to a scooter. The statement indicated that the explosion was carried out as an assassination and that General Kirillov and his deputy lost their lives.

Footage of the moment of the explosion was recorded from a vehicle across from the building. In the footage, the moments when two bodies were seen on the snow following the blast drew attention. In photos shared on Russian Telegram channels, it was noted that there was massive destruction at the building's entrance following the explosion and the locations where the bodies were found were visible.

It was reported that following the incident, Russian police took security measures at the scene and launched an investigation. In footage captured by the Reuters news agency from the scene, it was seen that a police cordon was established after the explosion and investigative procedures were ongoing.

Following the attack, the scooter to which the handmade bomb was attached was also seen at the scene.
