Forest fire in Konya reaches the Isparta border
The forest fire that broke out in the morning in the Doğanhisar district of Konya has reached the Isparta border due to the wind. Security measures have been increased in villages located approximately 3 kilometers from the border line.
A forest fire that broke out in the morning near the Güvendik neighborhood of Konya's Doğanhisar district spread rapidly due to strong winds.
It was learned that the fire started when stubble burned in a field spread to the forest area. While the fire was intervened from the air with 3 helicopters until the evening hours, ground intervention continues.
The fire that started in Konya had advanced to the Isparta border as of noon. It was reported that the flames approached the Yukarıdinek village of Isparta's Şarkikaraağaç district by approximately 3 kilometers. Due to the risk of the fire spreading, no evacuations were carried out in the border villages of Isparta, but security measures were taken.
According to information received from the Isparta Governor's Office, teams are closely monitoring developments and warnings have been issued to be prepared for a possible spread.
An intense effort is underway in both provinces to bring the fire under control. It was stated that the fire also poses a threat to forest areas in the border region, and teams are working to bring the fire under control.
