Gap doubles in latest election poll
Following the March 31 Local Elections, the results of the latest election poll have been released.
The CHP finished first in the March 31 Local Elections with 37.7 percent of the vote.
The AKP came in second with 35.4 percent of the vote.
For the first time in 47 years, the CHP has risen to become the leading party across Turkey, while the AKP has fallen to second place.
Striking results have emerged from the latest poll conducted following the local elections. Details regarding the survey have leaked from behind the scenes.
CHP officials state that the policies implemented after the election have increased the gap between the two parties by approximately 2 points.
According to polls reflecting party backroom discussions, the 2-point gap between the two parties has doubled in two months, exceeding 4 points.
According to the report by Gazete Duvar, there is a belief within the party that the new era policies of the CHP—which "listens to the voice of the street" and "works to ensure that voice grows even louder"—will increase this difference with each passing day.
