Georgian Interior Minister Geladze at the site where the Turkish military cargo plane crashed
Georgian Interior Minister Gela Geladze has arrived at the site where a C-130 military cargo plane belonging to the Turkish Armed Forces crashed.
As search and rescue operations continue for the personnel on board the Turkish Air Force C-130 military cargo plane that crashed in Georgia while returning from Azerbaijan to Turkey, Georgian Interior Minister Gela Geladze has arrived in the Kakheti region where the plane went down.
Minister Geladze was accompanied by his first deputy Roni Mesxi, Kakheti Governor Giorgi Aladashvili, and relevant department heads from the ministry.
In a statement issued by the Georgian Interior Ministry, it was reported that search and rescue teams are at the scene and that investigative activities are continuing in cooperation with the Turkish side.
The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) announced that there were 20 personnel, including the flight crew, on board the military cargo plane that took off from Azerbaijan to return to Turkey and crashed in Georgia.
