Global reactions to Biden's withdrawal from the race

US President Joe Biden has announced that he is withdrawing from the presidential election on November 5, in which he was set to compete against Donald Trump.

World leaders have issued a series of statements following Biden's decision to withdraw from the presidential race.

FIRST STATEMENT FROM RUSSIA: WE NEED TO BE PATIENT AND WATCH CAREFULLY

Following Biden's withdrawal from the race, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, "We need to be patient and watch what happens carefully."

In his statement, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, "There are still four months until the elections, and this is a long period of time during which many things can change. We need to be patient and watch what happens carefully."

Touching upon the Russia-Ukraine war, Peskov stated, "Our priority is the special military operation." Peskov also recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously described Biden as a predictable candidate whom Russia would prefer.

THANKS TO BIDEN FROM THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant thanked Biden for his support for Israel, stating, "Your steadfast support, especially during the war, has been invaluable. We are grateful for your leadership and friendship."

NETANYAHU'S COMMENTS ON BIDEN

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, "Whoever is elected president in Washington will receive the message that Israel is an important US ally."

He also said he would thank Biden for what he has done for Israel.

Netanyahu further announced that in his meeting with Biden, he would discuss issues such as the release of hostages in Gaza, the defeat of Hamas, and relations with Iran.

SCHOLZ: THE DECISION TO WITHDRAW DESERVES APPRECIATION

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that US President Joe Biden's decision to withdraw from the presidential race for the November 5 election deserves appreciation.

In a statement on X, Scholz said, "My friend Joe Biden has achieved a great deal for his country, for Europe, and for the world. Thanks to him, transatlantic cooperation is close, NATO is strong, and the US is a good and reliable partner for us. His decision not to run again deserves appreciation."

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez expressed his appreciation for Biden's "brave and honorable" decision. Stating that "thanks to his determination and leadership, the US has overcome the post-pandemic economic crisis and the serious attack on the Capitol, and has set an example with its support for Ukraine in the face of Putin's Russian aggression," Sanchez described Biden as "a great president who has always fought for democracy and freedom."

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated that everything Biden has done, he has done out of his love for his country, adding, "As President, he has been a partner and a true friend to Canadians. I thank President Biden and the First Lady."

UK PRIME MINISTER: I RESPECT HIS DECISION

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer also emphasized that he respects Biden's decision, stating, "I look forward to us working together during the remainder of his presidency."

Starmer added, "I know that, as he has done throughout his remarkable career, President Biden has taken his decision based on what he believes is in the best interests of the American people."

Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris also thanked Biden for his global leadership and friendship. REACTIONS FROM US POLITICS

The first reactions from the US political world to Biden's decision to withdraw from the election race have arrived. Former US President Barack Obama stated, "I know that Joe has never backed down from a fight. For him to look at the political landscape and decide that he should pass the torch to a new nominee is surely one of the toughest decisions in his life." Adding that "I know he would not make this decision unless he believed it was right for America," Obama emphasized his absolute confidence in the Democrats' ability to field a new candidate.
