He alarmed the police with a toy gun: 'I have already created my own hell'

The incident occurred around midnight in the 1st-floor apartment of the Sahra Apartment building on 1613 Street in the Paşacık neighborhood. According to information obtained, 23-year-old B.İ., who was allegedly suffering from a mental breakdown, locked himself in a room of the apartment where he lived with his family. After shouting inside the room, he climbed onto the window with a toy gun he had grabbed and began to yell. Neighborhood residents who saw the armed individual shouting from the window reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.

Upon the report, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Numerous police teams arrived at the location and, unaware that the gun in the individual's hand was a toy, wanted to intervene while taking extensive security measures against any negative outcome. As the individual increased the level of tension by pointing the gun at his own head at times and at the police teams at others, the officers put on bulletproof vests.

"I HAVE ALREADY CREATED MY OWN HELL"

B.İ., who directed unusual remarks at the police teams that spent a long time trying to persuade and calm him down, said, "Which one of you has been a remedy for my troubles, man? Man, leave it, man, are you the son of God that you will be a remedy for my troubles? I have already created my own hell, you cannot save me. Who are you, where do I know you from? What am I going to talk about, are you God that I should talk to you? What benefit will you offer me that I should talk to you?" The individual, who could not be persuaded, at one point opened his hands to the sky and prayed.

FAMILY OPENED THE DOOR, POLICE CONDUCTED AN OPERATION

After the individual entered the room from the window, plainclothes police officers wearing bulletproof vests entered the apartment once the individual's family opened the door and laid in wait. Some of the police officers waiting for the young man to come out of the room hid in the adjacent room, while others hid behind the door.

When the individual came out of the room, the police officers, who intervened suddenly from both the back and the front, managed to neutralize the individual instantly.

While the individual, who was immediately pinned to the ground, was being handcuffed behind his back, a body search was conducted by the police officers. The individual, who continued to shout despite being caught, was lifted to his feet after being handcuffed and searched.

"I AM ALSO THE SON OF ATATÜRK"

The individual, who was taken into custody by the police teams, continued to shout as he was being taken out of the apartment. B.İ., who said, "I will complain about all of you to God" while descending the stairs, also reacted to the members of the press he noticed while being taken out of the apartment, saying, "Don't film."

The individual, who had directed unusual remarks at the police officers before being caught, said to the police officers as he was being taken outside in handcuffs, "Brother, I am not a bad person. Don't do that to me, brother. Let me talk to my mother before I go. Brother, let me talk to my mother for a minute. I am the son of Atatürk. We are Turks, the sons of Turks, we are the sons of Atatürk." The police teams, who examined the seized gun, determined that it was a toy.

The individual taken into custody was later put into a police vehicle and taken to the Aksaray Police Center Command to have his statement taken. Following his statement, administrative action was taken against the individual within the framework of the Misdemeanors Law.
