He claimed he was 'defrauded' and filed a complaint; when nothing came of it, he killed: He shot a father and his son

The incident occurred around 20:00 on 220th Street in the Kayacık neighborhood. Mehmet Canımoğlu (60) and his son Aykut Canımoğlu (30) were subjected to an armed attack in the middle of the street. While the father and son were left lying on the ground covered in blood, the suspect fled the scene. Upon notification to the 112 Emergency Call Center, medical and police teams were dispatched to the area.

Medical teams arriving at the address determined that the father and son had lost their lives. The police identified the suspect as I.K. The suspect was apprehended by teams in the Gölcük district along with the murder weapon.

On the other hand, it was revealed that I.K. had filed a complaint alleging that he had been defrauded by Aykut Canımoğlu and had made statements regarding this matter last December. In his statement, I.K. said that Aykut Canımoğlu had contacted him to purchase his vehicle, stating, "Aykut came to me. He said, 'If you are selling the vehicle, I will buy it for my wife.' I accepted. He looked at my vehicle, and we bargained. We agreed on 1 million 600 thousand liras. He said to me, 'Come on, let's go to the Notary.'"

"My vehicle was registered to my son. While we were going to the Notary, he asked for my son's bank account information. He said, 'Since the vehicle is in his name, I need to send the money to him.' Before we even arrived at the Notary, he showed me a receipt indicating that he had sent the money. He said, 'Look brother, I sent the money to your son Murat.' We arrived at the Notary, and he called his wife. We gave the documents to the Notary," he had said.

"I SIGNED"

Stating that he called his son to check his bank account before starting the procedures at the Notary, I.K. had said, "However, because he works on a ship, he is sometimes unreachable. I couldn't reach him at that time either. Meanwhile, the documents were prepared, and it was time to sign. The official asked, 'Is your transaction complete?' I turned to Aykut. He said to me, 'It's complete, I sent the money, and I showed you the receipt.' So I signed," he had spoken.

"WE COULD NOT GET OUR MONEY"

I.K. stated that they went outside after the procedures at the Notary and that Aykut Canımoğlu told him he was going to Yalova, adding, "He sold the vehicle to an auto gallery in Yalova on the same day. I learned this later.

After our procedures, I returned home and called my son again. I asked if the money had arrived in his account. My son checked and said the money was not in his account. Later, we called Aykut. He told us, 'Since today is Friday, the money will hit your account around 17:00-18:00.' When those hours came, we checked again, and the money was still not in the account. We called again, and this time he said, 'It must be because it's the weekend. It will be in your account on Monday.'

It has been 4 months and we have not been able to get our money. A week after the incident, I went to his father. He told me, 'We will give you your money. We won't eat your money.' Upon this, I waited another week. When I couldn't get a response from him, I went to him one more time. He told me again that he would give the money, but it has been 4 months, and our money has not been returned. They keep stalling by saying, 'We will give it today, we will give it tomorrow.' Later, they even started not answering our phones.

Upon this, we went as far as his father's house. This time he told us, 'It doesn't concern us, go find Aykut and get your money from him. I don't know where he is.' When I first went to him, he had said, 'I am a guarantor for my son,' but later he said, 'Did you ask me when you were giving the money? You shouldn't have given it, go get your money from the state,'" he had expressed.
