He did not allow the terrorists' so-called memorial ceremony: On whose orders was Tunceli Governor Tekbıyıkoğlu dismissed? He reportedly said, 'I had him fired!'
Journalist Fatih Altaylı claimed that former Governor Bülent Tekbıyıkoğlu, who was reassigned to the central government after refusing to allow a terrorist memorial in Tunceli, was dismissed on the orders of PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan. Tekbıyıkoğlu, however, categorically denied the allegations.
Bülent Tekbıyıkoğlu, who served as Governor and municipal trustee in Tunceli, submitted his resignation petition to the Ministry of Interior on May 19, 2025, requesting to be removed from his post.
The reason cited was that there was an attempt to authorize a memorial program intended for the so-called leaders of the separatist terrorist organization PKK, Ali Haydar Kaytan and Rıza Altun, following a phone call from Ankara.
Following this situation, Governor Tekbıyıkoğlu was reassigned to the central government, and Deputy Governor Ertuğrul Aslan began serving as acting Governor of Tunceli.
“ÖCALAN SAID, 'I HAD HIM FIRED'”
Journalist Fatih Altaylı, who is currently detained in Silivri Prison on charges of “insulting the President,” continues to create headlines on YouTube through the letters he sends.
In his latest statement, Altaylı made a highly controversial claim. Alleging that baby-killer Abdullah Öcalan stated he had personally ensured the removal of Tunceli Governor Tekbıyıkoğlu, Altaylı used the following expressions:
“Öcalan said that he was the one who had the governor fired for not allowing the memorial held for him in Tunceli.”
TEKBIYIKOĞLU DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS
Bülent Tekbıyıkoğlu did not remain silent in response to Altaylı's claim. In a statement made via social media, the former governor emphasized that he left his post of his own volition, stating the following:
“No one fired me. Furthermore, the person/authority mentioned is not a person or authority capable of firing me. Without even receiving any suggestion in this direction, I conveyed my request to be removed from my Tunceli Governorship to our Ministry on May 19, 2025, of my own free will. If it is true, the statement mentioned in the record in question is a baseless remark made to gain the favor of the interlocutor.”
