He killed his wife at her father's grave and critically wounded her sister: They were in the process of divorce

The incident took place at the cemetery in Oğuzlar village, located in the Ortaköy district of Aksaray. According to the information obtained, while Gamze Yıldırım (35) and her sister Beyaz Ç. (48) were visiting their father's grave for a holiday visit, Habip Emre Yıldırım (38), who was in the process of divorcing Gamze Yıldırım, opened fire with a shotgun, first at his wife and then at his sister-in-law.

Gamze Yıldırım and Beyaz Ç. were wounded by the pellets from the shotgun. As both women collapsed in blood at their father's grave, other visitors who heard the gunshots reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

The medical teams that arrived at the scene in a short time determined in their initial intervention that Gamze Yıldırım had lost her life at the scene. The critically wounded Beyaz Ç. was taken by ambulance to the Emergency Department of Aksaray Training and Research Hospital.

While it was learned that the woman, who was taken under treatment there, is in critical condition, the suspect who fled the scene was captured and taken into custody in a short time by the gendarmerie along with the shotgun used in the crime. An investigation into the incident has been initiated by the Ortaköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
