According to the information obtained,in Kayseri, in the middle of the street,Y.K., who killed his brother-in-law S.T. with a handgun after he had assaulted him, and then ran over him with a car, was sentencedat the Kayseri 2nd High Criminal Courtduring the hearingto 18 years for 'intentional homicide under severe provocation' and1 year and 6 months for carrying anunlicensed firearm.He had received a prison sentence.

 After the 18-year prison sentence given with the 'unjust provocation' reduction was overturned by the Kayseri Regional Court of Justiceon the groundsthat an excessive sentence was imposed,Y.K. was retried at the Kayseri 2nd High Criminal Court.The detained defendant Y.K. and the lawyers for both parties attended the hearing. INCIDENTBACKGROUNDIn the incidentthat occurredon March 3, 2024,

on Gaffar Okkan Boulevard in the Mimarsinan Şirintepe neighborhoodof the Melikgazi district,the parties involved had aprior feud.allegedly between Y.K. and his brother-in-law S.T. (45) for a reason yetunknown, an argument brokeout. As the argument escalated, S.T. assaultedhis brother-in-law Y.K. Following the assault, Y.K. fired at S.T. with a handgun he had with him. 

Y.K., who literally showered his brother-in-law withbullets, then drove his vehicle over S.T. and fled.While police teams took extensivesecurity measures,checks performed by medical teams determined that S.T. had lost his life. Y.K., who fledafter the incident, wascaptured in a shorttime as a result of theefforts of police teams.
