Horseplay in parking garage ends in bloodshed
In the İzmit district of Kocaeli, a man stabbed his friend in the abdomen, killing him, after a bout of horseplay suddenly turned into a fight in a parking garage. The suspect was taken into custody by police teams.
The incident occurred around 16:00 in a parking garage on Berk Street in the Körfez neighborhood.
A.K. began arguing with his friend, Ferhat Ozan Yıldırım, with whom he had been joking around in the parking garage.
As the argument escalated into a fight, A.K. grabbed a knife from a motorcycle basket during the struggle and wounded Ferhat Ozan Yıldırım in the abdomen.
While Yıldırım collapsed to the ground covered in blood, A.K. fled the scene. Upon reports from bystanders, medical and police teams were dispatched to the location. Yıldırım, who was rushed to Kocaeli State Hospital in critical condition, succumbed to his injuries despite all medical interventions. As a result of the police investigation, A.K. was apprehended with the knife used in the incident and taken into custody. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
