How long will the snowfall in Istanbul continue? Warning issued by AKOM

The snowfall, which has been continuing intermittently in Istanbul since yesterday, increased in intensity during the late hours of the night.

Snowfall is expected to continue today, especially in higher elevations. While the answers to the questions "Will the snowfall continue?", "How many days will the snow last in Istanbul?", "What will the weather be like?" are being wondered, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has announced its new forecasts.

In the statement made by AKOM, it was stated that the cold and rainy weather of Siberian origin will continue to affect Istanbul.

Authorities announced that sleet and occasional heavy snowfall are expected in Istanbul until tomorrow morning.

The statement included the following remarks:

"Siberian cold continues to be effective in a large part of our country, especially in Istanbul. Until Saturday morning, there will be transitions of sleet and heavy snowfall across the city. Air temperatures will hover in the 5-8°C range for the next week."

WHEN WILL THE SNOWFALL IN ISTANBUL END?

According to AKOM's forecasts, snowfall will be effective intermittently in Istanbul until the weekend.

Sleet and snowfall will continue across the city until Saturday morning.

On Sunday, the precipitation is expected to turn into rain.

On Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, sleet and occasional snowfall may be seen.
