How many ministers will change in the Cabinet and who will be included? Here is what is being discussed in AKP corridors

Following the defeat in the March 31 Local Elections, the congress process has begun within the AKP.

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signaled changes in both his party and the Cabinet in a statement he made to journalists on the plane while returning from Albania recently.

Erdoğan said, "In the new process, just as there may be some changes among the deputy chairmen, we will make our evaluations regarding the cabinet as well. There may be some changes there too."

According to a report by the Türkiye newspaper, which is known for its proximity to the government, while it is being discussed in AKP corridors that this statement by Erdoğan does not mean a change in the short term, the comment is made that "If there is to be a change in the cabinet, it will proceed in parallel with the congress process."

On the other hand, it has been suggested that significant changes could be made within the AKP, particularly in the Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK), at the grand congress planned for May.

It is alleged that Erdoğan, in meetings with his staff, said, "We have very valuable provincial chairmen, deputies, and mayors in our party. I would like to utilize our friends with high levels of knowledge and experience during this process."

DEPUTY CHAIRMEN MAY FIND A PLACE IN THE CABINET

While it is suggested that a portion of the current Central Executive Board (MYK) members will be replaced entirely and some may have their units changed, it is also being discussed that some names among the deputy chairmen could find a place in the Cabinet.

HOW MANY MINISTERS WILL CHANGE IN THE CABINET?

While the number of ministers to be changed in the Cabinet is awaited with curiosity, AKP sources said the following regarding the matter:

 "It is not correct to expect a very radical change. 3-5 people might change, or they might not. Because it is not currently thought that there is a problem regarding the cabinet."

On the other hand, it is expected that those who have served in the party's management cadres for a long time will be 'rested' and that young names will be brought in to replace them.

WILL THE NUMBER OF DEPUTY MINISTERS BE REDUCED?

It has been learned that the possibility of splitting some ministries into two if needed and reducing the number of deputy ministers are also among the topics being discussed in the corridors.
