Husband arrested in case of woman married for three months found shot to death

In an incident that occurred the night before last in an apartment on Sütçüler Street in the Sütçüler neighborhood of Kepez district, 24-year-old Helin K., who had been married for 3 months, got into an argument with her husband, İsmail K., after they returned home from visiting her father's house.

Neighbors who heard the young couple arguing and came to the door to check on them heard a single gunshot from inside the apartment. İsmail K. then opened the door, claiming that his wife had tried to take her own life, and took Helin K., whom he was carrying, to Kepez State Hospital by his own means. Despite all interventions by doctors, the young woman could not be saved and lost her life.

Husband arrested on charges of intentional homicide

Following the autopsy and prosecutor's investigation at the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute, the young woman's body was received by her relatives amidst tears and laid to rest at Kurşunlu Cemetery.

Following the incident, İsmail K. was taken into custody by teams from the Antalya Police Department's Public Security Branch, Homicide Bureau, and brought to the police station for questioning. After the procedures, İsmail K. was referred to the courthouse, where he was arrested by the court on charges of 'intentional homicide' following his statement to the prosecutor and sent to prison.
