The award given to Oktay Kaynarca, who said, "I do not like city nationalism. I like country nationalism. I am from Turkey. I am a Turkish nationalist," has been demanded back. Kaynarca, who is currently on the agenda, made a statement full of harsh words.
Oktay Kaynarca has once again become a topic of discussion with his remarks on the 'Biz Bize' program broadcast on A Para. The famous actor drew backlash when he said on the program, "I do not like city nationalism. I like country nationalism. I am from Turkey. I am a Turkish nationalist."
Zafer Party Deputy Chairman Seyit Yücel lashed out at the actor, stating, "This individual, whose fame and money brought by a TV series made him talk while he was a mediocre person nobody knew, has followed the 'from Turkey' fashion and is speaking without shame. May the opportunities provided by the Turkish nation be a curse upon him."
A social media user named Adem Enes also shared the moments when Kaynarca received an award, stating, "Oktay Kaynarca, we gave you the Golden Gray Wolf Award on May 3rd; we gave that award. We want you to return the award."
Oktay Kaynarca responded to these harsh comments with harsh words of his own. The actor stated, "I know these stick-wielding, drooling, vigilante executioners; reading is not your job, you choose to attack what you are pointed toward as if you have an opinion without having any knowledge. But perhaps, just maybe, you might be curious; I recommend you read," and continued, "Addressing those who claim that nationalism is only what they know; if you don't understand this either, I suggest you watch the first episode of the series I produce, BEN BU CİHANA SIĞMAZAM."
In his post, Oktay Kaynarca stated: "In response to the 'thugs' who twist my sentence—'I do not like regional nationalism, I like national nationalism; I don't like the clichés of saying I am from here or there, that no good people come from this place or that place, good people come from everywhere, therefore I am from Turkey'—and wait with sticks in their hands to attack: we were standing guard at the places you are now supposedly guarding long before you, you armchair nationalists who haven't read two books, even got on the bandwagon. So what, I said I am from Turkey, and they call it separatism, divisiveness, and even denying one's roots? Look, look, look! Yes, I am a Turk from Turkey, and I have always been proud to be a Turk, and I think I could never live anywhere else in the world. Yes, I am from Turkey, yes, I am a Turk."
The actor, who said, "To me, saying I am from Turkey means I am a citizen of the Republic of Turkey; yes, I am a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, yes, I am from Turkey, yes, I am Turkish," stated, "Twisting and bending such a clear concept as 'I am from Turkey' to alienate, otherize, or even label people as traitors with hollow rhetoric is something only hollow people do."
The actor, who harshly criticized Zafer Party Deputy Chairman Seyit Yücel, stated the following:
"Unfortunately, the Deputy Chairman of a party has been swayed by the false agitation of a group of thugs and has said everything imaginable about me. Moreover, it is written in the identity disclosure that he is a founder of that party. The managers and even the founders of political parties, which are a requirement of democracy, may become state administrators in the future, but they must possess those qualifications; I am talking about people who are not prejudiced, who research, ask, discuss, and choose peace instead of fighting before attacking. Now, look, in response to the Deputy Chairman's sentences, 'While he was a mediocre person whom no one knew, this individual, made to speak by the fame and money that came with a TV series, has followed the 'Turkiyeli' fashion and is talking,' I wish that instead of following this mob that seeks people to lynch without distinguishing between right and wrong while drooling, and instead of chasing a popular benefit, you had researched me a little and asked around about where I stand and how I stand..."
