ISTANBUL

Governor Gül stated in a post on his social media account that, according to data received from the Turkish State Meteorological Service, heavy snowfall and icing are expected throughout the province.

Gül shared the following information: "Considering the safety of our students and citizens, education has been suspended in all educational institutions (kindergartens, primary schools, middle schools, and high schools) throughout Istanbul on February 20, 2025. Additionally, disabled employees working in public institutions, female employees with children under the age of 8, and pregnant personnel will be considered on administrative leave."

Governor Gül also warned citizens to be careful and cautious, and not to take their private vehicles into traffic unless necessary.

The Muş Governorship announced that due to ongoing snowfall and the risk of icing, education has been suspended for 1 day on Thursday, February 20, in all official and private formal and non-formal educational institutions (excluding universities) throughout the province. SNOW CLOSURE FOR SCHOOLS IN ORDU

In Ordu, due to snowfall and icing, education has been suspended for 1 day on Thursday, February 20, in all of 13 districts, and partially in 6 districts.

In the statement made by the Ordu Governorship, it was stated that education has been suspended for 1 day in all of the Aybastı, Çamaş, Çatalpınar, Çaybaşı, Gölköy, Gürgentepe, İkizce, Kabadüz, Kabataş, Korgan, Kumru, Mesudiye, and Ulubey districts due to snowfall and icing. On the other hand, education has been partially suspended for 1 day in the Akkuş, Altınordu, Fatsa, Gülyalı, Perşembe, and Ünye districts.

Pregnant, disabled, and chronically ill personnel working in public institutions, as well as our female personnel with children attending kindergarten and daycare (excluding those whose presence is essential for the operation of the institution), will be considered on (1) one day of administrative leave."
