Initial findings emerge in the death of Rojin Kabaiş, whose body was found: Details on assault and 'clothing'!

Rojin Kabaiş, a first-year student in the Child Development Department at the Faculty of Education of Van Yüzüncü Yıl University (YYÜ), went out after having dinner at her dormitory on September 27.

Her friends, who could not reach Kabaiş by phone after she did not return, notified the police on September 28 at around 12:00 PM. 

It was determined that Kabaiş had stated she would go to the Lake Van shore to collect pebbles around 6:30 PM on September 27, and that a friend she invited to join her had declined the offer.

On September 28, Rojin's mobile phone, headphones, cake, and water were found on the shore of Lake Van. The phone was handed over to the police for examination.

Police, Gendarmerie Coast Guard, AFAD, and Metropolitan Municipality fire department teams launched a search operation for Rojin, who had told her mother during a phone call that she was going to the market to buy coffee, water, and cake.

Police teams provided aerial support from time to time to the efforts, which were also joined by volunteer search and rescue teams. 

The search efforts utilized a side-scan sonar device sent from the Çanakkale Police Department, as well as the gendarmerie's surface radar and the police's underwater imaging devices.

Rojin's headscarf was found on October 10.

Sad news arrived today regarding Rojin Kabaiş. 

The lifeless body of the young girl, who had been missing for 18 days, was found.

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that Rojin's lifeless body was found on the shore of Molla Kasım Village at Lake Van.

According to initial findings, it was understood that Rojin's body had been in the water for a long time. 

It was determined that Rojin was still wearing her clothes, that her body had bloated due to being in the water for a long time, and that she had not been subjected to any assault.

An initial examination of Rojin's body will be conducted at the Forensic Medicine Institute today.

Following the report from the Forensic Medicine Institute, the exact cause of Rojin's death will also be determined.
