İsmail Küçükkaya announces he is 'sad and angry'! Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş will show no mercy to anyone
Journalist İsmail Küçükkaya, relaying information he received from Mansur Yavaş's staff, stated that Yavaş is very sad and angry over the high amount paid for the Ebru Gündeş concert. Küçükkaya noted that in the statement Yavaş will make regarding the Ebru Gündeş concert, he will show no mercy to anyone.
It had been alleged that the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) paid 69 million liras to singer Ebru Gündeş for the October 29 Republic Day celebrations.
The ABB had previously issued a statement regarding the matter, saying, "The amount is 44 million 937 thousand 117 liras, including VAT. We would like to remind you that this figure also includes transportation, accommodation, the screen, sound system, stage setup, technical equipment requested by Ebru Gündeş, and the expenses of nearly 100 employees."
On Halk TV, İsmail Küçükkaya reported that when he called the staff of Ankara Metropolitan Mayor (ABB) Mansur Yavaş regarding the millions of liras paid for the Ebru Gündeş concert, he received the response: "He is very sad and angry. He will not show mercy to anyone because his name is being mentioned as one of the presidential candidates."
Küçükkaya described the conversation with the following words:
"I called his staff yesterday, and they said: 'He is very sad and angry. He will not show mercy to anyone because his name is being mentioned as one of the presidential candidates.' This is wrong. For example, 50 million liras for the Ebru Gündeş concert, 70 million liras for Mor ve Ötesi, and so on for Candan Erçetin...
Let's go back. It is valid for other municipalities as well, but for instance, we don't know how much Hadise received in Istanbul.
Murat Ongun also says: 'Those who criticize this should also look at how much was paid during the AK Party era, especially by the Istanbul Municipality...' He is also right," he said.
