A fire that broke out during the night at the Grand Kartal Hotel, located at the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Center, led to a major tragedy.

While 66 people lost their lives in the fire, 51 people were injured. A remarkable development regarding Grand Kartal Turizm ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi, the owner of the hotel where the fire occurred, has come to light.

CAPITAL INCREASED 7-FOLD IN 3 MONTHS

It was learned that Grand Kartal Turizm ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi had gone through a capital increase 3 months ago, raising its capital from 10 million TL to 80 million TL. This significant increase has brought about questions regarding the company's financial structure.

FOUR-SHAREHOLDER COMPANY

It was noted that the company has four shareholders and that their shares are close to one another. The shareholders were identified as Halit Ergül, Emine Murtezaoğlu Ergül, Elif Aras, and Ceyda Hacıbekiroğlu.

Within the scope of the investigations launched following the fire, the company's financial transactions and the safety measures at the hotel are also under scrutiny.

WHAT HAPPENED?

It was reported that 66 people lost their lives and 51 people were injured in the fire that occurred at the Grand Kartal Hotel, located at the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Center.

It was stated that the hotel was approximately 80-90 percent full during the fire that started at night, and it was learned that 238 people were staying at the hotel.

While it was stated that the fire started in the restaurant section, a chain of negligence was also brought to light. A citizen who barely escaped the fire stated that the smoke detector in the hotel was not working and that there was no fire escape in the hotel.
