Luxury car crashes into toll booths like an arrow on the highway: Husband and wife lose their lives

The accident occurred at the Akyazı toll booths on the Northern Marmara Motorway.

According to the information obtained, the luxury Mercedes car with license plate 81 DY 180, driven by Selman Güngör (33) and traveling from the direction of Istanbul toward Düzce, lost control and crashed into the concrete barriers like an arrow.

Upon notification, health, fire, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the region.

Checks performed by the health teams arriving at the address determined that the driver, Güngör, had lost his life at the scene.

The driver's wife, Yonca Haymana Güngör, who was extracted from the vehicle by the teams as seriously injured and taken to Sakarya Training and Research Hospital, could not be saved despite the interventions performed there.

It was learned that the couple's 5-day-old baby girl, who lost her parents, is in critical condition and her treatment at the hospital is ongoing.

On the other hand, it was learned that the deceased Yonca Haymana Güngör worked as a doctor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Düzce University Research and Application Hospital.
