Minibus carrying teachers collides with car

The accident occurred in the evening hours near the Balkaya village on the Kelkit-Erzincan highway. According to the information obtained, the minibus with license plate 29 M 0295, driven by Ali D. and carrying teachers from the Yeniyol 75. Yıl İmam Hatip Secondary School, was heading toward the Kelkit district center when it collided head-on for an as-yet-undetermined reason with a Tofaş-brand car with license plate 24 UA 043, driven by Nafiz A., which was coming from the opposite direction.

Following the accident, numerous 112 emergency health, gendarmerie, fire department, and AFAD teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured, who were trapped in the vehicles, were extracted by the teams and transported to hospitals in Kelkit and Erzincan.

In the accident, Hikmet Erhan B., Elif B., Özlem G., Neslihan B., Tuğba D., and Enes Ç., who were in the service vehicle carrying the teachers, as well as Sebahattin T. and the vehicle driver Ali D., were injured; it was learned that their lives are not in danger.

Ulvıyya Ç. (51), who was in the car, lost her life at the scene. It was learned that Nafiz A. and Tunar İ., who were in the same car, are in critical condition.
