Missing Narin Güran's final words revealed

8-year-old Narin Güran went missing on August 21 after leaving a Quran course in the rural Tavşantepe neighborhood of the Bağlar district in Diyarbakır.

Search efforts for Narin, who has been missing since August 21, continue on their 16th day.

New details have emerged regarding the day Narin Güran went missing—a case followed closely by all of Turkey—and the arrest of her uncle.

According to a report by Hürriyet, findings obtained from camera footage and testimonies during the investigation process indicate that Narin, who left home at 13:50 on August 21 to attend a course at the mosque, was last seen that day at 18:47.

At 19:30, her family also began searching for her.

The process leading to the arrest of the uncle, who was last seen in the area at 18:59, began with his contradictory statements and behavior.

A friend named M., who was seen on camera with Narin at 18:47, also recounted what they last talked about.

Here is what happened on August 21...

13:50: Narin left the front of their house to go to the course at the mosque.

14:00: She stopped by the house of her 69-year-old uncle, Hüseyin Güran. From there, she went to the mosque.

15:05: She left the mosque.

15:15: She entered the footpath leading home, passing in front of the school. According to statements from family members, no one from her inner circle saw Narin again after this time.

17:40: According to other statements obtained, Narin was seen by two people near the mosque, approximately 300 meters away from their house.

LAST SEEN AT 18:47

17:50: Narin went to the house of her great-uncle Hüseyin, knocked on the door, and spoke with her cousins at the door.

18:47: She encountered her friend M. In this encounter, only M. was within the camera's angle. M. was interviewed in the presence of psychologists and pedagogues and described her meeting with Narin. According to her account, M. said to Narin, "Let's play a game." Narin replied, "I am very tired, let's not play," and left the area.

18:59: According to camera recordings, the suspect, Uncle Salim Güran, left the front of their house in his car and headed toward the school.

19:30: The search for Narin began by her family.

THE UNCLE'S SUSPICIOUS DEPARTURE

On the 13th day of the search, the uncle, Salim Güran, who was arrested for 'deprivation of liberty' and 'intentional homicide,' could not provide a detailed account in his statement of what he did in the village between 16:50 and 19:00 on the day of the incident.

According to camera footage and testimonies, Narin was last seen at 18:47. The uncle, meanwhile, was captured on camera in the area in his car 12 minutes later, at 18:59. He responded to questions by saying, "I don't remember."

The answers regarding why he turned off his phone were also found to be contradictory. Narin's DNA profile was found during the examination of his car. However, it could not be determined whether these findings were blood, saliva, or vomit.

Special software is also being used to recover deleted records from the detained uncle's phone.
