Mother had gone to take out the trash: 3.5-year-old child dies after rope wraps around neck

The incident occurred on the ground floor of a three-story building on Hal Street in the Belediye Sitesi neighborhood of Kilimli district. According to allegations, the mother, Cansever K., who had left her home to take out the trash, found her 3.5-year-old son, Efe Mahmut K., lying on the floor with a rope wrapped around his neck upon her return.

Medical teams were called to the scene for the young child, who was freed from the rope after neighbors, who arrived at the house upon hearing screams, cut it with a knife.

The teams arriving at the scene determined that 3.5-year-old Efe Mahmut K. had lost his life. The lifeless body of the young child, who was taken to Atatürk State Hospital by ambulance, was then transferred to the morgue.

FATHER SHED TEARS AT THE MORGUE

Crime Scene Investigation teams collected evidence at the scene. While the investigation into the incident by the Kilimli District Police Department and the Zonguldak Police Department Homicide Bureau continues, witness statements were taken from the father, Musa K., the mother, Cansever K., and their neighbors.

Father Musa K. and the neighbors arrived at the hospital morgue accompanied by police teams before the autopsy. Father Musa K. shed tears at the morgue.

The Public Prosecutor arrived at the hospital morgue and initiated autopsy procedures. The exact cause of death of the young child will be determined following the autopsy.
