Neighborhood head holds funeral for municipality

Seyhan district'sPınar Neighborhood Headman Saniye Çelik chose an interesting method toexpress that they were not receivingservices from the municipality. Claiming that the CHP-run Seyhan Municipality has notprovided services for nearly 2 years, headman Çelik helda funeral for the municipalitywith an unconventional ceremonyin front of the headman'soffice.

"We have concluded that the municipality is effectivelydead"Stating that they could not receive services from Seyhan Municipality,

headman SaniyeÇelik said, " For two years,our lives have been exhausted; we are calling, we are applying with petitions.Because no servicesare coming,we have concluded that the municipality iseffectivelydead. Let's not waste our breath in vain, they will not provide services.The mayor, deputy mayor, acting mayor, and directors who do not provide servicesshould not receive salaries for nothing.They should not be occupiers of office.Our lives are over, we cannot get services," she said."Seyhan's96 neighborhoods are in a terrible state"Çelik added, "This is not just for Pınar Neighborhood"

We were left helpless,and finally we said let's not waste our breath,let's say the municipality has diedandbe done with it.it. You cannot expect help from the dead; can a dead persondo any work? No. So we said the municipality has died,andwe should give up hope. 

Should wewait like this for 3years, will our authorities do what isnecessary? We are waiting for support from everyone: our ministers, our members of parliament, our governor, and our district governor. The municipality has effectively died,andthe necessaryaction should be taken," she said.
