Following the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, the CHP held a rally in Maltepe on Saturday, March 29. Many channels did not broadcast this rally live. NTV was among those that did not broadcast it. Consequently, Özgür Özel added the Doğuş Group, which owns NTV, to the boycott list.
The Doğuş Group acts as the distributor for the Volkswagen, Skoda, Seat, Cupra, Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley, Porsche, and Scania automotive brands under Doğuş Otomobil.
