New development in the new reconciliation process: Sabah columnist announces... Door left open by Devlet Bahçeli for a Diyarbakır visit!

Hot developments are taking place in the new opening process that began with the call from MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli. Most recently, the process gained momentum following the visit of DEM Party members Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Pervin Buldan to Erdoğan at the Presidential Palace.

Following her visit to President Erdoğan, Pervin Buldan, who made assessments regarding the new process in Rome, the capital of Italy, had stated that the process would reach full success in June and that every step taken points to the freedom of PKK leader Öcalan.

Following these hot developments, Sabah columnist Yavuz Donat recounted a phone conversation he had with MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli in his column. Stating that Bahçeli left the door open for a Diyarbakır visit by saying "It could happen," Donat used the expressions, "A historic step could be taken with the participation of the President and the main opposition leader."

In his article titled "We will go to Diyarbakır with Bahçeli," Yavuz Donat wrote the following:

ANKARA-DIYARBAKIR LINE

Parliament... October 1, 2024... The olive branch extended to DEM deputies... Bahçeli's first statement: "While we want peace in the world, we must ensure peace in our own country."

And... The first stones laid by Bahçeli on the long, narrow road... To open locked doors:

"Dialogue... The opening of clenched fists... The softening of tense facial features... Well-intentioned relations... The establishment of communication networks... These are the most reasonable keys to open locked doors."

Time passed... 6.5 months... And... I said to Devlet Bahçeli:

-May you fully recover your health... The weather is also warming up... The coming weeks... May... June... It is the perfect time for Diyarbakır... The region is waiting for you... Could we go together?

Devlet Bey... said, "Why not?" He was pleased with my question.

He continued by saying, "It could happen."

It should happen... They should go to the region together with the President. I wish... the main opposition party chairman Özgür Özel would also be with them.
