New tax package sparks debate! How to lower credit card limits?

The new tax regulation has gained a significant place on Turkey's agenda. Additional payments are foreseen for many products such as real estate, vehicle sales, wristwatches, and drones.

750 TL ADDITIONAL PAYMENT FOR CARD LIMITS OVER 100 THOUSAND TL

Within the scope of the proposal, credit card holders with a limit of 100 thousand TL or more will pay an annual participation fee of 750 liras for each card.

46 BILLION TL REVENUE TARGETED

It is stated that these participation fees will be transferred to the Defense Industry Support Fund, and a total revenue of 46 billion 466 million 329 thousand 428 TL is targeted.

REACTION TO THE FEE TO BE COLLECTED FROM CREDIT CARDS

The new tax package brought to Parliament by the AKP has caused a great stir in public opinion. Some citizens have expressed their reactions against the participation fee to be collected from credit cards.

99 THOUSAND TL REQUEST TO BANKS

According to information obtained from industry sources, citizens are applying to banks' call centers to lower their card limits to 99 thousand TL due to this situation.

However, banks are not meeting these requests from their customers. Limits are currently not being lowered.

HOW TO LOWER CREDIT CARD LIMIT?

You can lower your credit card limit by using your bank's mobile or internet banking applications.

Additionally, you can go to a bank branch, fill out a request form, and submit your request to lower the limit.

It is also possible to submit your request by calling customer service.

On the other hand, it was noted that the number of credit cards with a limit of 100 thousand TL or more is 61 million 955 thousand 106.
