CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made important statements regarding his party's presidential candidate selection process. Özel stated that the party base's opinion would be consulted during this process and that the candidate would be determined by the members.

GRASSROOTS SUPPORT WILL BE AT THE FOREFRONT

It was stated that the CHP's process for determining its presidential candidate will work differently from the Six-Party Table method.

Özel announced in his speech at today's group meeting that 1 million 600 thousand party members would be included in the process.

According to the report by Haber Global, the candidacy process will work as follows:

First, the candidates will be presented to the vote of the party members.

Then, the approval of the party group will be obtained. Ultimately, the determined name will be announced before the election is called.

Party sources anticipate that elections could be held as early as next year. This year, candidate selection efforts are expected to gain momentum. The idea of "asking the members," which had been brought up previously, will be implemented this time with a broad consensus within the party.
