Police officer on annual leave causes terror: Kills his wife and 2 daughters

The incident occurred around 16:30 on 1964 Street in the Varsak Demirel neighborhood of the Kepez district, on the first floor of a two-story building.

According to the information obtained, numerous police and medical teams were dispatched to the address following a report of a shooting received by the 112 Emergency Call Center.

Upon arriving at the address, the teams encountered police officer M.G., who serves at the Antalya Police Department's Varsak Police Station, sitting at the apartment door.

After taking the weapon from M.G.'s hand, the police officers entered the apartment and found the suspect's wife, Fatma Gıyar (31), in the living room, and their daughters, Meral Ebrar Gıyar (10) and Merve Gıyar (4), in the sitting room, all motionless.

Checks performed by 112 Emergency Health teams determined that the mother and her 2 daughters had lost their lives.

Following this, the Murder Bureau of the Antalya Police Department's Public Security Branch and Crime Scene Investigation teams were dispatched to the address.

After the work of the prosecutor's office and the Crime Scene Investigation teams, the bodies of the mother and her 2 daughters were taken to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute morgue.

It was learned that M.G., who was taken into custody, was on annual leave.

Meanwhile, Fatma Gıyar's sister, who arrived at the scene after hearing the news, suffered a nervous breakdown and was calmed by relatives.

It is alleged that M.G. and his wife had been experiencing disagreements recently due to family problems.

The investigation initiated into the incident is ongoing.
